One nice thing about the show (as much as I love it) is that it's only a
half-season season (like Dr. Who since you mentioned it): 13 episodes.

What you're watching now is the first season, but the third season will be
starting on ShowTime in a few months (the second season ended some time
ago).  What's really great is that there's no "storyline blackmail" in this
show: each season has been a well-constructed story with a well-defined
ending.  No cliff hangers, no "wait till next year!"

It does make you want more of it... but not by ending its stories badly or
dragging them out over hiatuses.

Oh - and the new season of Dr. Who has been GREAT.    It's really depressing
that we're already through 25% of the season!
