I'm not a hypocrite, I just have a different definition of "home grown". To me, that doesn't have to mean you developed them in your farm system. If you traded for them when they were "prospects", and then developed them....that to me is home grown. But the proportion of hired guns to home grown talent was much more balanced, and I think it was the devleopment of those young kids, the Bondermans and the Maroths et al, that put you over the edge and made you a World Series team.....not the hired guns.
