This is my annoyance too. From what I understand, this $600 is basically an advance on next year's refund. So, I'm just getting my refund from next year a year early? Silly.
Yes, those of you that don't usually get a refund of $600 or more won't actually have to pay it back, but those of us who do are basically losing out. Maybe not losing out, but unless I go changing my w4 so I play it close enough to not get a refund (or have to pay, *gasp*) next year, I dont get to fully reap the bennies of this "stimulus". Since I do contract work, I like to have a cushion and always get at least $1000 back. That being said, I think I convinced the wife to get a Wii with part of our $1200. Weeeee!
