LOLOL!  I love it!  ;-)  Actually if you wait for the 2010 models (due out
in early 2009) you should be able to get the GenIII prius which is slated to
get even better fuel economy and should have an EV only mode that will get
you up to 30 or so miles while getting up to 60'ish miles per hour.  It's
also supposed to be a plug-in...  I'm planning on keeping my prius till one
year after the GenIIIs hit the floor, then I'm trading up.  :)

HA!  Well ... yeah.  Hey, we're all slaves to market forces, and the fact is
that the Prius is the best thing going for economy.  And they've got great
features.

If the government would pull back on their diesel taxes - and possibly even
subsidize it to encourage adoption - I'd be happy.  And it's not just me
saying it, it's Honda's opinion too.  They don't like hybrid technology.

All that having been said, reality is what it is and I'm not going to let
the perfect be the enemy of the good - for the next 3 years anyway.

So ... maybe next year, I'm going Prius, baby!
