McCain wants town hall meetings. Obama does not. (Actually, he agreed to
one, on the 4th of July in the evening after everyone is passed out or
watching fireworks).

Obama basically wants what plays to his strength - giving speeches, and
McCain wants what plays to his strengths - verbal sparring in an informal
setting like a town hall meeting.
