Business is doing very well, thanks, but that's not how we pay for these kinds of trips. We have four weeks of a Marriott time share in Newport that we use for travel. They have a system where you can trade the weeks for weeks in other Marriott resorts, trade for Marriott points to use in hotels or for airfare, or trade into a worldwide timeshare exchange system with properties around the globe. We used points for the airfare, we exchanged a week from Newport for a week in Marbella at the Marriott Beach Resort, and we had a bonus week for a Marriott hotel stay we used for Paris. All in all, an excellent way to go because, as you pointed out, if we had to pay cash for airfare and euros for accommodations, it would have been very expensive. The hotel in Paris alone would have been around $5K, it's nuts with the summer rates. We had to pay out of pocket for food and drink plus internal travel- car rental in Marbella, subway in Paris, etc., but those things are a fraction of the cost of hotel and airfare. > I've not been to France for about 3 years and miss it quite a bit - > Paris is my 2nd favorite city.
