Yahoo has no problem with knowing the roads and cities of Georgia. Wikipedia has no problem. Anyone know of any other mapping site that we can test? The speculation is that Russia asked Google to remove the information and as we've seen in the past, Google is quite happy to comply with the wishes of non-US country. Their "do no evil" slogan applies on a per-country basis.
As for Sergey Brin, just because one is of Jewish genealogy does not mean they are pro-Israel. Some of the most anti-Israel people around have Jewish genealogy. But again, Yahoo has no problem showing a wealth of roads, cities and towns in Israel. Google?
