See, I don't believe that, but that's because I don't believe in
altruism.  I think people do things because those things are good for
them, not others.

That is, people choose careers because they like the work, the people,
the money, et al, but always for selfish reasons.  It can be argued,
for example, that even people who claim they are doing things for
others are really just doing it for the good feeling they get.
