Counts on the Americans (we are a diverse people). In Judaism, circumcision is required for men (not for women in any case). In some Christian denominations it is required as well (a throwback to their Jewish roots). Islam also requires it. Beyond that, many non-religious or people without it as a custom have it just as a matter of course. There are movements who are quite adamant that its the worse thing in the world and should be stopped. My response to them is to screw off.
