So, offhand, I see that Robert's Puritan concern that someone who
isn't working will get $1000 is ill-founded, as the $1000 is a rebate
of the payroll tax. This is a good thing in my opinion; very-low-wage
workers like kids who work in fast food currently pay proportionately
more tax than the richest Americans. This also means that if you have
no income you get nothing.

I also note that under this proposal you will not have to itemize your
taxes to take a mortgage deduction.

Generally speaking the plan seems more like a simplification than
anything and I am surprised that the fair fax people aren't backing
him; maybe they are hypnotized by the GOP talking points, which do not
seem to have much basis in reality.

The "tax increase" is in fact a repeal for the highest bracket of the
Bush tax cut.
