Years ago there was a TV show called "Just shoot me". One of the episodes
involved a black man pretending to be the son of a white millionaire. When
the millionaire asked how he was able to get away with it, he simply asked
"And why can't I be the son of Jack Gallow?". No one would challenge him
because he was black. They did not want to come off as racist. Even writing
this I think - am I offending anyone by saying black? This is the silence of
fear.

A BBC docudrama about the 7/7 bombers was pulled because of a fear of
"Islamophobic".

The fear of offending Muslims has become so great that self-censorship is
becoming the norm rather than the exception. There's no fear of offending
Jews, Christians, Buddhists, etc. Why? Because at its root, the fear of
offending Muslims is the true fear of Islamophobia - the fear that a Muslim
will kill you. In other words, trying not to islamophobic results in being
islamophobic.

And again, as I write this I debate posting it because it may seem like I'm
being critical of Islam. "He's a Jew, of course he's down on Islam". There
are a number of posts that I have squashed because of this very fear. I'm
just as guilty of self censorship as any book company or broadcaster. Shame
on me.
