Charlotte was doing very well in the real estate market before the banks started laying off people right and left. I don't know how that has effected the real estate market (Wachovia is HQ'd in Charlotte and recently made huge cuts). I've been interested to hear about both markets since I live relatively close to Charlotte. I haven't heard or read anything in the news so maybe both are still doing okay.
