I live in Charlotte and the job prospects are terrific right now, especially if you know .NET. Housing, although it has been affected by the downturn, is the strongest in the country as the prices did not skyrocket during the bubble.
Microsoft just had a job fair and I will submit your resume internally if you'd be intersted in a support position (believe me, it's not a typical helpdesk job). There are dev jobs as well but they require that you be very strong in C++ and C#. Support Engineering jobs typically let you get your foot in the door and fill in all of the gaps that you don't ever learn by being a typical web dev. Email me directly if you're interested. Also, MS offers 100% paid health care, stock awards, terrific pay and tons of other benefits. - Matt Small >How's the job market down there? How's the housing outlook?
