Sharon realizes this, which is why he has said he will not kill Arafat. He
has neutralized Arafat. There is now a power vacuum in Palestine. How long
is that going to last? Not long I'd bet...all Sharon has to do is keep the
issue confused for a long enough time that someone else will assume
leadership. Anyone is better that Arafat imo, he has lost his credibility.
Even if a outright terrorist gains power it may be bad in the short term,
but in the long term, the issue is less confused...then the world will know
who the bad guy is.

The problem is that with so many nutcases in one place, something more
extreme than a suicide bombing is bound to happen....it happened in
Afganistan. Nutcases make bad decisions, like supporting Bin Laden in the
face of a very pissed USA. Hezbollah and all of them are just as dumb. They
are going to step over the line sooner or later.
