I'm not overly worried that McCain isn't an economist, honestly. You can't be an expert in everything and I'm certainly not going to expect a presidential candidate to be top notch in all areas. In fact, I give McCain points for being honest about the things he doesn't know as well. Presidents need to have good advisors though and need to exercise good judgment, have a steady hand and know how to exercise critical thinking when dealing with conflicting advice. Thus far, I don't see those characteristics in John McCain and I don't care for the policies and advisors that he is bringing forth.
The gotcha politics of pulling snippets of quotes isn't worthy of electing a President, I'd hope. I know how important sound bites have become in the arena of 24/7 cable tv, but we have a written medium here that allows us more leisure, so I'd hope we could keep it a bit more substantiative.
