Sure.   A mistake in my opinion because the move from 63% to 67%
caused *some* of this problem.  And the banking committee "relaxed"
the rules of lending to make that 5% move on 2 theories:

1.) It'll be more risky, but that's not a problem because the risk can
now be spread throughout the world, and

2.) Wall street can be trusted to reward smart risk plays and punish dumb ones.

Both of those propositions, obviously, failed.

The distinction I'm attempting to help you understand is the
difference in leadership - accountability - and responsibility, or
doing the actual work.

When you volunteer to be a leader, you volunteer to be accountable;
for everything that happens.  That's not fair, but that's why you're a
volunteer.

Which, in this case, means the President's job is the safe and smooth
stewardship of our economy to the full extent of all of his abilities
- no matter what congress says.

Your implicit contention is:  The President is NOT accountable for the
stewardship of the economy.

Thus you and I disagree on the core principles of leadership.
