no sense in getting all upset about 'what ifs.'

The *reality* is that McCain is now trying to shore up his campaign,
flagging support after the Palin bump and in the bargain get out of
the debates with this move.

Just yesterday morning Obama reaches out to McCain and then later in
the day McCain is off to washington... hrmmmmmmm...
