I was looking for some advice on selling my car. It still has a lien on it, so I don't have a clear title. In the past, I've generally either had a car paid off, or done a trade-in before selling it, this is the first time I've tried to sell my car without a clear title and am expecting it may be a problem for buyers. The remaining amount is too much for me to pay off (unless I did something like a home equity loan) but the bank says it takes up to 10 days to send the title and lien release after the loan is paid, there's no way to do a wire transfer or some other way to pay it immediately and get the title. Has anyone else dealt with this situation? How did you handle it? It's an SUV, so not an easy sell right now anyway, but otherwise would typically not be a problem, with the condition and features the vehicle has.
