No leadership, no judgment, nothing. Obama should be up by twenty points right now, not in a neck and neck race. Why is that? The guy is all style and no substance, and people recognize it. Don't get me wrong, he has great style, and he's an admirable guy in a lot of ways. But come on, where's the beef? Because of the financial crisis, his bread and butter domestic issues are irrelevant. All he has left is opposition to Iraq, which is almost a non-issue now. What is his platform, what does he want to do, what will he do? Politicians love to talk about what they will do, well, he has a chance to show us what he'll do. He can't even get a word in edge-wise in the most significant financial crisis since the Great Depression. Why? He is out on the campaign trail and the crisis has knocked every other story, including the campaign, off of the top of the press podium. He needs to get involved. But he has never been through a serious test, and he is failing this one so far. He needs to step it up. If he stepped up and was seen as out in front on a solution to the crisis, he would be ahead by twenty points. If he can do that he deserves to win the election and have a strong mandate. He can talk the talk.
