I seem to recall lots of people saying he wouldn't pick Biden because he was
"gaffe prone" and after he did pick him, wondering whether he ran the risk
of causing problems for the campaign because he is well known to speak his
mind, wander off off on tangents, be caustic and, yes, say stupid things on
occassion. Obviously if it was felt that Biden gets a free pass from the
press those would not be concerns.

Palin has shown the ability to speak her mind quite clearly on the things
she cares about and has thought about. I don't think she's stupid at all. I
think that she flubbed this answer precisely because she doesn't really care
about it and think about it. As far as priorities go, I think a number of
Americans would agree that choice of news outlets doesn't merit much thought
and consideration. I disagree and so do a great deal of people. That's fine,
its a matter of different priorities and goes to the heart of what you think
makes a good candidate.

The question wasn't a gotcha question. The answer wasn't misinterpreted. The
question and answer merely indicated a different set of priorities.
