But you voted for Bush and have supported him ever since. That having
been said, kudos to you for admitting your decade of poor judgment. I
only wish you'd turn recognition into action.

Nevertheless, you and I are an interesting pair.

If we eliminate the positions and focus on principles, you and I
probably agree 100% or as near to it as you can get. Even on foreign
policy, although I think Iraq has distorted things.

So how can we come to vastly different conclusions on leadership?

Well, I dunno. I speculate that it has to do with how we judge people
and what and how we're willing to compromise.

For example, in 2000 I didn't vote for Bush solely because I thought
he was an idiot and, in my experience, if you hire idiots you get
idiotic results. In 2004, despite my suprise, I thought Bush was even
stupider. Again, no matter the policy positions, I won't hire morons.

As for this time it's not the dumb guy vs. the smart guy, it's the
hothead shoot-from-the-arthritic-hip guy vs. the smart guy.

So, net-net, I will vote against McCain because he's an admitted
economic neophyte and hothead. That's the exact opposite of the
personality-type we need as President right now.

The only way I'd vote for him is if the other person was dumber and,
of course, that's far from the case this time.
