I've taken a lot of hits in the past couple of years. Watched my nation suffer under the control of so called patriots that want nothing more than to recreate a socialist (the left) or fascist (the right) state.
I'm close to it myself. It's time to take out the garbage. I do not believe in the initiation of violence to foment political change. The being said if they come for guns, more taxes, if the new law enforcement orgs these people create want to play sometime, I and the people around me will defend ourselves. The community I live in is largely military, primarily combat vets, and I can tell you that if/when something of that nature took place, you will start seeing desertions, sabotage and attacks. I've been to war, it's not something I would wish on my nation, my family, my children, nor do I wish them to whimper, and cower and take whatever this government of corrupt lying cheating criminal bastards do to us. The Boston Tea Party was kicked of by a government company (East Indian Company, a monopoly owned by the crown) when they brought in tea, and continued to charge a (admittedly small) duty/tax. Now 10%, 20, 50 isn't unheard of. Taxes and economics caused our revolution. In reality taxes, duties and economics started our Civil War as well, with slavery being a secondary issue. It's likely to start the next one to. People are being strangled by the government in order to pay for the weak and the unproductive. This won't stand.
