Bingo. What the "Regan Revolution" was all about was rejecting all of the lessons of The Great Depression. Gramm and McCain led the charge and Clinton signed it. If you want to blame one thing on this crisis, IMO, it's that bill and its core author Phil Gramm. But Clinton signed it. Are there bad loans and bad insurance? Sure, but it's plenty regulated.
