I think you definitely have to put Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac stuff in
your map somewhere. I don't agree with the view that Democrats and
Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac are solely (or even mostly) to blame but it was
certainly contributory. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac of course had
plenty of people happy to use it on the right and the left. None the
less, we shouldn't leave out the issue.
