Oh MAN do I agree with you.

Take GM.  1 in 7 of their platforms actually makes money.  Why?  Lots
of reasons but:

(1.) They have tons of legacy costs
(2.) They whole business model is broken
(3.) They don't make things that people want to buy or at the quality
level they want to buy it.

So what does GM do?  They lobby congress to get fiscal policy that
favors their platforms that do make money.  That way they don't have
to innovate, don't have to change production, and don't have to take
risks.

GM, and the auto industry, is essentially a government run industry.
It's commie.

And like all government run businesses it's failing.
