Know anyone at the local paper? Contact the social affairs writer. Know a photographer who might donate their time? Take a few shots of everyone having fun. Photo-document the entire night. Get the local paper to write it up. Generate BUZZ!
Pricing: Will $250 be totally out of the range of people who might come? Make it exclusive. Exclusive is a nice draw, especially since you said 5 people. Can it possible be 6? This lets you pair people off if need be. The flyer should be pretty and ritzy. You're holding it at a gallery. Make it almost black tie-ish. Put dress up on there somewhere.
