Spoken like a true capitalist! Realistically, there are so many entrenched interests around income taxation - the IRS bureaucracy, accountants, lawyers, software companies - that it would be difficult if not impossible to eliminate income taxes. The government needs funds. Republicans look at taxes as a necessary evil to enable government to do the things it must. Democrats look at taxes as a means of wealth re-distribution. That is the core difference between the two parties.
