I had respect for him until the UN speech debacle. I think he genuinely wanted to serve the country and was a moderating voice at the beginning of the Bush administration. My friends in the state department spoke highly of him. But alas, he squandered moral authority and respect that he had and kept being a team player when the team had gone horribly wrong.
I hope that he is able to help repair the damage to the country and to his reputation and be a positive voice in world affairs in the years. to come.
