The reference was made to the left wing elite blindly adhering to the line the Soviets dictated in the 30's. I was making specific reference to the right wing elite blindly parroting National Socialism's platforms at the same time. In other words if you're going to bring up that tired old reference from the 30's, at least have the intellectual honesty and integrity to realize that it wasn't only the fault of the left in the west, but of the right wing as well. If anything, the moderate left was even more anti communist than many on the right from the late 40's on through the 60's.
