Will, We have a timeshare at South Lake Tahoe, adjacent to Ski Run Marina (where the Tahoe Queen paddlewheeler docks). Especially during off seasons, we can get ad hoc "bonus time" for a night or two really cheaply.
Usually ski Heavenly, since it's only a mile away and we love it. Had a "comp" ticket for Northstar, so took a gorgeous drive around the lake to ski there. Dollar Point is a beautiful area. Speaking of Tahoe City, have you heard the local joke about "Fanny Bridge"? The bridge on 89 over the Truckee River just S of the intersection with 28 is called that because of all the gals in shorts or swimsuits bending over the railing to look at the trout in the pool below the dam. 8-) BTW don't know if it's still there, but right S of the bridge was a restaurant named Bridgetender's Cafe which had some of the best burgers we've ever had, and a variety of local beers. If you drive around the lake at all, be sure to check out a scenic ride on the new gondola at Heavenly, just down the block (west) on Hwy 50 from Harrah's. Goes 2.4 miles, up 2,900' altitude in 12 minutes. 14,000 sq ft observation deck with views to die for. Picnic tables, restrooms at deck. -Ben > -----Original Message----- > From: William H.
