Bill- couple of nice routes you may/may not be aware of:
395 S from Reno to NV431 (Mt Rose highway), really pretty drive over Mt Rose from Reno side to Incline Village on the Lake, then turn rt to Tahoe City 395 S from Reno to S of Carson City, then US50 over Spooner Summit to east shore and South Lake Tahoe. BTW when you go to Emerald Bay, you're almost at South Lake Tahoe (15 minutes?). Cool family ride - either Tahoe Queen (SLT CA side at Ski Run Blvd) or MS Dixie (Zephyr Cove NV side on 50) are paddlewheeler excursion boats, 2-hour rides across the lake into/around Emerald Bay and back. If you and family go to Emerald Bay, have you ever toured the Vikingsholm mansion on the beach (state park)? We think the trail is 1 mile down, 3 miles up because of the gain in altitute <ha>. Squaw replaced the small gondola with a "Funitel" where each cabin is 15 capacity. More stable in high winds. Goes to original gondola top station. They also have the Cable Car, 100-passenger, goes to High Camp which has swimming pools, bungee jumping, and Olympic-size ice-skating rink at 8,200'. You can also mountain-bike from there 2,000' vertical down to the valley. If ya want paper brochures on the boats or Heavenly gondola send a snail-mail address. -Ben > -----Original Message----- > From: William H.
