Something I discovered when Nixon was running in 1972. The Republican base will talk long and loud about how moral they are, but they really don't care if their guy is immoral or corrupt - he's their guy. So you have adulterers like McCain and Gingrich, un-wed mothers like Palin's daughter, crooks like Nixon and Ted Stevens, doesn't matter. They'll vote for them anyhow.
