What mocking? I can use the support. Its not easy doing what I do. As for systematic oppression, this is not the 1800s or even the 1900s. I see more blacks systematically oppressed by their brethren than I do from some random white person on the street. I'm in the same oppressed boat as everyone else. I don't own a car, I don't own a house, I don't even have cable. I have a business that is supported on a shoestring by advertising and even that's not enough. My job went 'on hiatus' like may peoples with this economic slump. You want solidarity. The only difference between me and anyone you want to claim is oppressed in America is the color of my skin. Wait, that's not true. Illegal immigrants have it worse. They brave perils no one here will ever know to come to this country for a better way of life. Many are abused financially and even physically. But they came here by choice because they see this country as a better option than anywhere else. Maybe the oppression here isn't really oppression. Maybe these immigrants can tell us what REAL oppression is. Somehow I think that the word is being used here without really knowing what it is.
