An article in the Albuquerque Journal yesterday (the one I generally
refer to as "the local Bush apologist rag") connected the dots an
ACORN and voter suppression efforts in New Mexico. It is official --
these allegations do in fact stem from the same individual, a GOP
lawyer, who made the same allegations in the last elections, when they
were so thoroughly debunked last time. The same lawyer hired the
investigator who showed up at the door of a couple of elderly women
asking them why they thought the should be able to vote. Let me see if
I can find a link on that; the Journal used to require an account. But
I read this on paper this morning at breakfast. It's definitely there
and in a mainstream newspaper, and a newspaper known for its
pro-business pro-Republican leanings at that.

Oh and their coverage also confirmed what I suspected but had not yet
seen explicitly spelled out -- the "bogus" registrations were in fact
the pile of flagged cards, which ACORN must by law submit or face a
fine of $1000 per card.
