Let me clarify what I was trying to say.

I also tend to go to different sources for information, however, I also
believe (based on absolutely no scientific information) that most people in
this country do not do that.  They blindly take what the NYT or Fox News or
the guys in the barber shop or where ever they get their news tells them to
be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. That is where I
think any kind of bias can be a dangerous thing.

Sadly, I know intelligent people who choose to only get their news from one
of these sources and consider the others to be 'rags'.   They get so wrapped
up in their beliefs, they do not want to read/see any news stories that may
disagree with their position.

It seems we agree about expectations of the press as a whole questioning
government and I might add, those who wish to serve as part of the
government.
