I'm not justifing anyone's behavior. I'm whining about the lack of sophistcation I see and hear every day to tell you the truth. I'll list them for you. Gruss' list of things people don't seem to get: (1.) Accountability vs. Blame. Leadership is being accountable for *everything*; you don't draw lines. (2.) Investment vs. give-aways. An investment has a fact-based plan to recover the money and grow it, measures in place to check it, and an stop-loss plan as contingency. (3.) Plan vs. ideology. Good policy has a plan, goals, measures, and an end date. Ideology just does stuff cause it seems right. (4.) Principle vs. position. You take a stand on principles or you're fascist. So really I was just taking to opportunity to list one of my frustrations with people's thinking.
