I was tongue-in-cheek a bit there, but transition  to a Democrat; at
least as judged by my voting.

I used to be solidly Republican, not so much Party, but in the belief
that the Republicans, as one of the 2 major parties, shared my values.

Then I made an exception for Clinton.  Then again.  Then there was no
way I could vote for Bush.  And again.

And now there's no way I could vote for McCain.

 In 2000 McCain had my vote for sure, but in 2008 his campaign is the
opposite of me but there still was a chance pre-Palin, but her
selection locked my vote for the "O" (admittedly there was little
chance, but probably like 10%).

I voted down ticket Democrat because I saw no comparative advantage in
the Republican candidates in talent or temperament and I think we need
to clear out the neo-con Republicans as well as give the O all the
advantage he can get.

It's an all-in type move on my part with all of the associated risk of
an all-in move.
