What's the issue here? Some things are just not meant to be messed with is very vague. its saying some things, like blacks marrying whites, or your other favourite negative bias, are not meant to be messed with. The point being is that what's the problem? Are you worried that somehow by allowing gay marriage your own marriage will suddenly become cheaper and less meaningful? That it will destroy the institution of marriage? My cousin just got married to his SO of over 15 years after same sex marriages were declared legal in British Columbia. I haven't seen any rush of divorces on the part of straights in Vancouver or Victoria or anywhere else in Canada since the Canadian Supreme Court made that decision. Last I looked the cost of marriage in Canada had not changed. Two things to consider, first off I used the deliberate analogy of inter racial marriage for a very good reason, because its essentially the same situation involving human rights. Second, the current marriage laws can be treated as an intrusion of religion into the concerns of the state. As such, its unconstitutional. So it would be better as far as the government is concerned to make all marriages civil unions. if the couple wants to get the religious stamp on their union they can go for the ceremony. But a religious purveyor should not have the power to license civil unions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:278654 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
