I wanted to see Obama win because I think he is worthy of my criticism. As I've mentioned before, I violently disagreed with him on the FISA bill. I thought he had the opportunity to take control of the Democratic Party as its presumptive nominee and use his clout to defeat a very bad bill. He declined to do that and I thought it was a failure of leadership. He thought of it as pragmatism.
But that's the good thing...I think he is capable of going after the major challenges that face us. He won't meet them all in the way I will hope and I will criticize him when that happens. And on some of those issues I'll be wrong and on some he'll be wrong and on some we may never know who was right or wrong. But I'm glad that we are getting a President who is worthy of the responsibilities of the office.
