Are you speaking about Youtube? People surf and look around, or they pay attention to what gets recommended. User patterns are all over the place.
Not to mention, since youtube allows you to embed their videos on whatever site you wish to put them on, people on blogs, etc ... might watch a video there, but see a recommendation for anther, and end up surfing that way.
