I really loved Enders Game, but I'll never read another Orson Scott
Card book. His hate mongering is despicable.

I have this same problem with musicians. I've met a couple of
singer/songwriters lately whose work I adored, but it really lost its
shine after meeting the person behind the songs. One was totally rude
to this sweet little lady who mispronounced his name, and the other
was so goofy that I can't listen to any of her songs now without
thinking about Scooby-Doo.

I've reached the point where I tend to avoid meeting my favorites,
lest they turn out to be assholes.
