while we weren't a national touring act we were a regional one and I 
learned really quickly to leave the stage persona on stage.

You have to be able to turn it off. There's a huge difference between 
being flashy and cocky on stage, and deciding you don't want to perform 
a sold out show because your favorite TV show is on.

and yes the fans much prefer that your accessible, and able to leave the 
stage persona on stage
