Was he fired under scandal and rehired? Try not to deflect this by using cases that are not related. This is X person (Power) was publicly fired for making Y person (Obama) look bad and then re-hired by Y person after he won. If Bush fired a CIA director for giving bad Iraq intel and then rehired him a few months later when he hoped the furor would die down then you would have a similar case.
