Well.. I do not know about power consumption, but this is what I was told:

If the TV will be in a dark room, i.e., no windows... Plasma

If not.. then LCD.

I got an HD LCD tv three months ago and I have not noticed any unusual
changes in my electrical bill.

Subject: HD TV Plasma versus LCD

What would be some pros and cons between the two?

I'm expecting that I'll get more intelligent answers from this esteemed
group then my friend did from a salesman last night. Who insisted that
you could not compare the power consumption between a plasma and a LCD
television because "they are different technologies from different
manufacturers." As if one runs on watts and the other rainbows I guess.
