But that's exactly the point. The so-called green movement wants to create
enough of a panic to convince you to part with your money to subsidize their
businesses because they can't compete in the market. The tail is wagging the
dog, you see?

Just look at ethanol from corn. What a stupid idea that was, right from the
very beginning. It all started because farmers could not sell all of their
corn. So they invented this bio-fuel and convinced a bunch of idiots in
Congress to provide them with giant subsidies to pay for it. Even then it
was not competitive as a fuel until oil shot through the roof, and then what
happened? The price of corn skyrocketed, creating huge problems primarily
for poor people in places like Mexico who eat corn flour tortillas as a
staple of their diets.

The truth is that if green technologies were competitive with fossil fuels
on a large scale, utility companies would deploy them. But unlike the
shysters in the "green" community, the utility companies actually have to
provide energy at reasonable prices without massive subsidies. So why should
we allow for massive market distortion in favor of "green" technologies?
It's a scam.

And let's not forget about China and India. Without their total
participation, any "going green" strategy to limit CO2 emissions is doomed
to faliure before it even starts. Anyone want to bet that either of those
countries buys into severely limiting their economic growth in the name of
going "green"? Even if you believe that limiting CO2 emissions is a
necessary thing, you can't seriously pretend that anything we do will make a
difference unless China, India, and lots of other countries participate. And
we already know what China and India are going to do - nothing - so why are
we even having this discussion?

Because someone wants to sell you something you don't need and can't afford,
so they are trying to scare you into allowing the government - i.e. you, me
and everyone else - into paying for it. Screw that.
