I don't think anyone has EVER suggested that reducing CO2 is a
be-all-end-all solution. It's part of an overall strategy. It seems like
common sense to me that reducing our pollution is good for everything and
everyone on the planet. Everyone benefits from cleaner air, you can't
dispute that.

And saying that we don't have proof and should therefore not spend the money
on it seems ridiculous to me. Saying that we don't have enough data,
couldn't possibly effect the planet, etc, is just a cop-out to go on living
any way you want. It seems very obvious to me that humans have an enormous
effect on the environment. And no one disputes that the earth has cycles,
warming trends etc. The difference between now and then is the speed at
which it is occurring.

At the risk of putting words in Sam's mouth. I _think_ what he is trying to
say is that since we do not know what is causing the climate change, should
we really be spending tons of money on a 'solution'? If you don't know the
cause of the problem, how can you have a solution to it?

Some people are like slinkies...not really good for anything but they bring
a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
