I had dropped out of the linux world back when windows 2000 came
out. I got tired of constantly tweaking my system to get it to
work. Fast forward to 2008 where I rejoined the linux ranks...now,
i'm blown away at how easy it is to get up and running. I can deploy
a server in about 1/10 the time it takes to deploy a windows server.
I'm totally into linux so much that my next workstation is going to
run linux and have windows virtualized (for things that really need
it), but nowadays, I'm becoming much more comfortable in linux than
windows.
Plus, who can deny the greatness of crontab or commands like:
grep "Error" < production.log
or
find /path/to/files -mtime +30 -exec rm {}\;
as for installing navicat, after you "tar zxvf
navicat8lite_mysql_en.tar.gz", there should be a README file with
instructions on how to run the installer or compile it.
