You are full of BS and obviously pushing for a government handout, that's
what I know.

The forces of nature that operate on this planet so far outstrip any forces
that mankind can muster that we have no chance of out-muscling them.
Alternative energy sources are fine if they can compete in the market. The
notion that we can fund R & D and somehow make those solutions competitive
in a crowded market is seriously misguided.

As for 3% of our yearly income going to R & D, we are already $1 trillion in
the hole for the year, we need to spend less, not more. We can't spend our
way out of the recession,  I don't buy that FDR crap for a second. He
screwed up the economy for years, and what we ended up with are the two
biggest money-draining scams in world history- Social Security and Medicare.
