I like the new version of Picasa from Google. My wife uses it pretty
much exclusively for photo viewing and retouching and prepping for
print out. I do a bit more manipulation than she does and I use Gimp
for that but tend to use Picasa as well for quick and dirty
adjustments. Both are free and cross platform windows/osx/linux
