Well that's pretty cool. And it's awesome ya'll can remain friends!

As a slightly concerned, some kind of friend, who business it clearly isn't
but can't help but open her mouth:

Can't you just file the paperwork yourself? Apparently there seems to be no
alimony, or settlement, or any of that there snazzy stuff, so you should
just be able to file yourself and save a ton.

Because whilst it's really cool that everything is affable (heaven bless
your significant others) ... well.... legally, there so much that can go
wrong, without you ever realizing it may ever happen.  I would hope at least
that you have very clear written, notarized wills, health directives, etc.

I mean I hope and pray nothing ever goes wrong - but "legal" loose ends are
like frayed live electric cords next to an ever growing swamp in the steady
drizzle of a rain forest.

And now I will butt out of your business. :D
